First Annual Great Vancouver Housewarming Party

Together with our partner 1-800 Rid of It , junk removal company, we furnished 6 homes for families in need! Over June 5 & 6, these families received enough furniture to make their new places into a real home. And we received an overwhelming response to several stories in the media - thank you Vancouver! Please consider sponsoring the cost of furnishing a home - only $260!

We're the very first recipients of a truck from Charity Trucks!

The truck is made available to us completely free of charge – this is more than we could have hoped or prayed for!

HomeStart Foundation depends on a reliable vehicle to pick up donated furniture and deliver it to people who would have no other way of furnishing their homes. We’d been trying to manage with an aging vehicle but the worry, expense and time off the road were bringing us to a stop.

Charity Trucks is a new venture, linking business & community. Bill McIntosh, Founder & CEO, heard about HomeStart and decided that he wanted us to be the first charity to get a truck. “When I heard about their situation, I knew I wanted to act quickly.” He called back with an “update” a day later and within a week we were picking up our new truck!

Financial Support – the only thing standing between us and increasing our capacity to serve those in need! HomeStart Foundation is a registered charity and all cash donations are tax-receiptable. Our operating costs include rent, insurance, salaries and transportation.
